It’s October again, meaning National Cybersecurity Awareness Month is back! Every year, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCA), and various other information-security organizations lead a campaign to raise cybersecurity awareness. This year’s campaign theme is “See Yourself in Cyber.”
Throughout the month of October, we’ll be posting various blog posts with information on how you can do your part to ensure that we are all more cyber secure. We’ll share some stories and tips to help you, the everyday technology consumer, lower your risk of becoming a target or victim of a cyber threat. We will also share tips on what you can do if you recognize a threat and how to respond to it.
As an individual, having the knowledge to recognize and respond to a cyber threat makes you the most powerful line of defense. So let’s start with 4 things you can do to harden your defenses:
- Enable Multi-Factor Authentication
- Use Strong Passwords
