0

With mainstream discussions of CoronaVirus and it’s reach dominating the media it is imperative that you remain vigilant as malicious actors may try to trick you to perform unsafe actions. Please use caution when opening any media or clicking links that you were not expecting. Threats can come in many different forms.

Protect Yourself by Paying Attention To:

  • Sender Address
  • Hyperlinks
  • Requests for Money
  • Texts
  • Calls
  • Unfamiliar Charities
  • Attachments

Remember To:

  • Avoid clicking on links in unsolicited emails and be wary of email attachments.
  • Use trusted sources—such as legitimate, government websites—for up-to-date, fact-based information about COVID-19.
  • Do not reveal personal or financial information in email, and do not respond to email solicitations for this information.
  • Verify a charity’s authenticity before making donations. Review the Federal Trade Commission’s page on Charity Scams for more information.
