A number of Fordham users have received a phishing message from davidhamlin0901@gmail.com. The subjects are some variation of “Available” or “Are you free at the moment?” This sender is NOT legitimate and they are impersonating a member of the Fordham community. Users who interact with the scammer will most likely be told a sympathetic story and eventually asked to send money through electronic means.
We have written about recognizing these particular types of scams here: https://itsecurity.blog.fordham.edu/2018/10/25/recognizing-wire-transfer-scams/
