Secure Wireless Networks Available

Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 9:00am, Fordham IT will be enhancing the security of the wireless networks at the Rose Hill, Lincoln Center, and Westchester campuses. In order to do so we will be adding Service Set IDentifiers (SSIDs) to the current list of wireless networks. These networks will use the WiFi Protected Access II (WPA2) protocol and they require a key (password) to encrypt your wireless network traffic.

To access the secure wireless networks, simply select one of the following available wireless networks and enter the WPA2 Key when prompted for a password:

Campus SSID WPA2 Key
Rose Hill FORDHAMRH-S FORDHAMRH-S
Lincoln Center FORDHAMLC-S FORDHAMLC-S
Westchester FORDHAM400-S FORDHAM400-S

The following links contain more information on how to connect to and configure your wireless access:

Please note the existing unsecured wireless networks, FORDHAMRH, FORDHAMLC and FORDHAM400 will remain active and available, however, they are discouraged from being used and will ultimately be phased out. Additional wireless security enhancements which will integrate with your AccessIT ID, will be added in the coming months.

If you are unable to connect to a WPA2 network, make sure you update all network drivers to the latest versions. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the University Help Desk at 718-817-3999 or via e-mail to helpdesk@fordham.edu.
